Day 7 - Samkelo

Today we went to the créche again. When we came the children immediately started to hug us, it is great to have such a nice welcome!!
Today there were only 4 children in the creche, so Eva and I wondered why there were only four of them. Larissa told us this was because of the rain, if it rains here the people don't want to come out of their houses.
Just before the creche ended we were picked up by Anneke and Thijmen to go to the birthdayparty of Samkelo. Samkelo is a 21 year old boy who is disabled and lives in a house with more disabled. What was very beautiful was the way those disabled people communicate with each other. It is very hard to understand what Samkelo is saying but his girlfriend translated everything for us, it was so beautiful!! After singing happy birthday to him we went back home. Daphne showed us some areas of Port-Elizabeth, she told us which areas used to be 'white' and which used to be 'black'.
Tommorow we will work in the crèche again,
This evening Eva and I were asked by Peter if we would like to be ambassadors of Thamsanqa and we would love to do that! He said that we could spread the word about Thamsanqa bij writing our blogs for example. So please spread the word futher about what's happening here and about the stories of the children because people need to know what's going on. Today we heard the story Khandi, his father watered his mother with gasoline and tried to lit her on fire, luckily he didn't have te that's why they are placed out of house. So please spread the word about these children and what the've been through. Spread the word about Thamsanqa, the charity that took this children in their program to give them a safe house.
