Thursday at 4 PM we (Natasha, Anneke, Thijmen, Eva and I) left for a two hour drive to Düsseldorf to start our trip to Port Elizabeth. From Düsseldorf we flew to Paris where we had to change flights to go to Johannesburg. At 11 'O clock we took off in this very luxurious plane. Eva and I were very excited. In the plane we asked a steward if he wanted to join in our selfie and he did! With our selfie in the pocket we watched a few movies and eventually fell asleep. At 10 AM we arrived in Johannesburg where we had to entertain ourselves for 4 hours because our flight to our final destination Port Elizabeth was taking off at 4 PM. When we arrived we were awaited by Peter, Daphne and Tia. Tia is the owner of the foundation Thamsanqa, where our internship will run. When we wanted to go to our homestay (Peter and Daphne's house) we discovered that two cars weren't enough to take all the suitcases and people home! So Peter, Eva and I waited for a little longer at the airport so that the others could bring the suitcases home. While we were waiting for Daphne to pick us up again, Peter Eva and I were watching aircrafts taking off. This is where we heard our first inspiring statement of this trip. Peter loves aircrafts and what he said was: ''An Aircraft taking off is just like life, at first there is much pressure on it but later, the tension will release.'' As you can already tell, Peter is a wise man with many inspiring stories.
So after +/- 24 hours of traveling we had a very nice dinner which Daphne cooked. We are going to have a good sleep now because we're exhausted from the traveling.
Greetings from South-Africa!!
